If you haven't already, first activate your people.uic.edu site. Use the following settings to connect to your account with an SSH client:
|Authentication||UIC common password|
Your default location will be in your home directory, which is /home/NetID, and the pages you wanted displayed on your people.uic.edu page should be located in the /home/NetID/public_html folder.
We also have instructions for using SSH with Terminal for Mac OS X, but again, remember to use people.uic.edu as the hostname. Below is an example of someone with the NetID of example1 connecting to for the first time via SSH. You'll only need to say yes when connecting the first time.
m10501:~ example1$ ssh email@example.com The authenticity of host 'people.uic.edu (18.104.22.168)' can't be established. RSA key fingerprint is 3a:ea:c4:1c:3b:45:34:bb:72:9a:8f:1e:2a:07:39:6c. Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)? yes Warning: Permanently added 'people.uic.edu,22.214.171.124' (RSA) to the list of known hosts. firstname.lastname@example.org's password: Last login: Wed Jul 24 11:06:45 2013 from m10501.grc105.uic.edu [example1@people ~]$
