How do I install and use ADDA applications with Windows?

To install software for Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 through Active Directory Desktop Advantage (ADDA):

  1. The department REACH contact should request an account for you.
  2. Download the ADDA client and run it as an administrator. If you are off campus, you must be connected using the UIC VPN in order for the ADDA client to work. If you are not connected to the VPN from off-campus, ADDA will not work.
  3. Download and install KeyAccess. KeyAccess can be installed through the ADDA client. Once KeyAccess is installed, enter your UIC NetID and password and click on Connect N: Drive​ button. KeyAccess must be running in order for ADDA software to work.

After the N drive is mapped, you can select an application to install onto your system.

Troubleshooting

If you are off campus and attempt to connect to the ADDA server and receive a bluestem login page that gives an error when you log in to it, please verify that your VPN is connected properly. A bluestem login should only appear when you are not properly connected from off campus with the UIC VPN.
