Check if any blocks are in place. Some carriers may block messages from all sources except mobile phones unless explicitly told to do otherwise. In particular, you must ask specifically about short code or premium Short Message Service (SMS) blocks. Many mobile phone plans set up these blocks automatically. A short code is a 5-digit number, as opposed to a full 10-digit phone number. Our provider sends from a short code, so having such a block in place will prevent messages from getting to you. When checking with the support staff of your carrier, you should note the exact time you tried to send a test message so that they can look in their logs. The codes you can expect to receive messages from for UIC-Alert are: 226787, 67283, 78015 and 81437.
Contact us. Finally, if your carrier insists that they never got the message, and if they have verified that there are no blocks in place, please let us know so that we can look into the problem with our provider. Please provide as many details as possible including what your provider told you about premium short code blocks, and what error message you received after trying step 4 above. If your mobile service provider gave you a case number, please provide us with that as well.
