ACCC has extended the decommission of the Argo Cluster servers by one month. The Argo Cluster servers will now be decommissioned on Friday, March 17, 2017.
ACCC will decommission the Argo Cluster servers used for high performance computing on Friday, February 17, 2017. The Argo servers have exceeded their functional life span which includes the replacement of hardware no longer readily available. ACCC is working on new cutting edge solutions as outlined below.
Please download and backup any data you, or your department, have stored on the Argo servers before Friday, February 17, 2017. Any stored data left on the Argo servers after 2/17/2017 will be lost.
If continued use of High Performance Computing (HPC) is required please contact email@example.com
to find out if your department has invested in the HPC campus cluster program. If your unit or department has invested you will be onboarded to utilize Extreme HPC.
By March 2017, ACCC will also be deploying a new HPC and Big Data cluster called SABER. SABER will be open to everyone on campus on a fee for service basis. Extreme HPC will continue operating on a partnership model with upfront investment from departments across campus. More information on SABER will be released to the UIC community as it becomes available.
