ACCC is in the final stages of migrating all faculty and staff email to a single email and calendaring solution for UIC, called Exchange Online. There are only approximately 500 individuals left to migrate as of 1/24/2018. We have extended the deadline from December 15th, 2017, to January 29th, 2018. Any users who have not migrated their mailboxes by the deadline will be automatically migrated to Exchange Online.
The following link shows the current NetIDs that have a primary mail route still using either Tigger or Mailserv. For each NetID using Tigger or Mailserv the following data will display: Org-Code, Unit Name, NetID, Email Route, and Reach Contact. This gives you the ability to search the list by Org-Code, Unit, or the NetID of the REACH contact assigned to the faculty or staff member: https://www.uic.edu/htbin/cgiwrap-auth/bin/phonebook/oldmaildrops
ACCC email admins will migrate email accounts to the Exchange Online servers for all unmigrated users. We can start that process whenever the user is ready. Please note, however, that the process can take several hours to several days and that access to the mailbox will be briefly interrupted near the end of the migration. Again, unmigrated user mailboxes will be automatically migrated on January 29th, 2018.
Please have unmigrated users contact their local IT support person for assistance in setting up their Exchange Online account to help ensure a smooth transition to the new system.
If you do not know who their REACH person is, you can look them up using the following link: http://accc.uic.edu/service/helpdesk/reach
Exchange Online is provided at no additional cost to your college or unit. Information regarding Exchange Online can be found in the ACCC service catalog at the following link:
If you have any questions regarding Exchange Online, contact ACCC by sending an email to email-support@uic.edu for assistance.
Note that we only support Outlook clients on Exchange Online. Clients like Thunderbird and the native Mac Mail app are not supported.
Once the migration is complete, users may need to reconfigure their email clients. If they are currently configured with a username in the format ad\netid or just a NetID, they will need to change that to use netid@uic.edu as the username instead.
If you need assistance with configuring your desktop email client, you should contact your department's IT support. ACCC C-Stops (http://accc.uic.edu/service/c-stop) can assist with mobile client configuration.
Once you've been migrated you will be able to log in to the Outlook web client at https://outlook.uic.edu.
