ACCC Extended Laptop Loan (ACCCELL)

Audience: Students

Overview 

UIC and the Academic Computing and Communications Center (ACCC) have made available, with the use of the IT technology fee, an extended laptop lending program called ACCCELL, the ACCC's Extended Laptop Loan. The goal of the ACCCELL program is to provide those students in need of this technology, a loaner laptop to use during their tenure at UIC to assist in their academic success.

Features 

This service provides a current-model Windows laptop to students.

Requirements 

You cannot opt-in to this program. Laptops are available to qualified students, chosen by the Honors College as recipients of the Presidential Award Program Honors, and may be borrowed for as long as the student remains enrolled at UIC and in good academic standing

Applicability 

Student is responsible for the security of the laptop, missing parts or if the laptop is lost or stolen will incur costs, up to the full amount of replacing the laptop ($1000). Damage, other than normal wear and tear, to the laptop incurred during the time you have it checked out will be charged to your UIC account, viewable via e-Bills. Charges will vary according to the cost of restoring the laptop to working condition up to the full amount of replacing the laptop ($1000).

ACCC is not responsible for non-ACCC programs or files remaining on the laptop once the laptop is returned and are not responsible for loss or damage to a users non-ACCC programs or files as a consequence of use of the laptop. Student is required to agree to and sign a receipt prior to obtaining your laptop. The receipt contains all pertinent information about the computer. Please verify that all information on the receipt is correct.

Student MUST be enrolled and in good standing with UIC to remain in the ACCCELL program. If at any time this is not the case, student is required to return the laptop to the ACCC.

Cost 

There is no charge for this service, however, missing parts and lost or stolen laptop may incur costs up to the full amount of replacing the laptop ($1000).  Costs to repair damage, other than normal wear and tear, to the laptop incurred during the time you have it checked out will be charged to your UIC account which is viewable via e-Bills.
