ACCC is converting our Linux operating system offering from Red Hat Enterprise to CentOS (Linux is the Unix based operating system often used in servers and desktop environments). As a result of this conversion, ACCC will no longer be accepting new registrations to our Red Hat Network Satellite Server (RHN). Customers with current RHN registrations will still be able to update their Red Hat operating system installations registered with ACCC until further notice. ACCC will contact current customers connecting to the Red Hat satellite server with options and a deadline for migration to CentOS.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux is available for no fee to UIC faculty, staff, and students for production and personal use. Software updates, ISO images, and other services are provided through the Red Hat Network satellite server

The Red Hat Network (RHN) satellite server provides software updates, ISO images and a web-based interface to check on the update status of your Red Hat Linux systems. Advanced features are also available from the RHN Satellite Server such as configuration profiles, custom RPM channels, and automated kickstarts. Contact us if you're interested.

In order to access the Red Hat Netowork satellite server, please activate your RHN satellite account. During the system registration process you will be asked for your username and password. This will be your UIC NetID and ACCC common password.

ISOs should not be redistributed outside of the university.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux is available at no cost to UIC faculty, staff, and students for production and personal use.
