Statistical consulting includes technical advice to the UIC community for statistical applications sold by ACCC. We make certain that you are able to run your statistical software.
Support includes installing the software on your machine, diagnosing and resolving system errors related to statistical software, and renewing the annual licenses. Statistical support is provided for the packages below:
UICSTATS-L is UIC's electronic mail forum where faculty, staff, and students ask questions, discuss statistical issues and techniques, and offer suggestions or solutions. It also serves as a channel to update the UIC community on issues related to statistical software. Currently, there are over one hundred members of UICSTATS-L. To subscribe send an email from your UIC email address to email@example.com with the following in the body of the message:
SUBSCRIBE UICSTATS-L Firstname Lastname
You will automatically receive a note confirming your subscription to the group. Once you have subscribed, you can send messages to the group by sending an email to UICSTATS-L@LISTSERV.UIC.EDU. Check the LISTSERV Users Manual page for more information on how to use any LISTSERV function, including unsubscribing.
You should be aware that although UICSTATS-L participation is restricted to members of the UIC community, its contents are public. Any message you post to UICSTATS-L can be found and read by anyone on the planet possessing a browser who knows how to access and read listserv archives.
Our general policy (there are exceptions) is to support older versions as long as the software developer does so.
Unfortunately, due to limited resources, we cannot provide operational or statistical support. Operational support is usually defined as "How do I ...?" questions, such as "How do I enter my data?". Statistical support is advice on which statistical analyses are appropriate for your data.
Due to the complexity typical of such help requests, we cannot offer users statistical software support "on-demand" such as servicing walk-in visitors or callers. Also, the statistical consultant does not directly service computers, whether it be for installing software or troubleshooting statistical software problems.
There is no charge for this service.
