If you want to import your Google Calendar into Outlook, you don’t have to re-enter all of your appointments. Instead, export your Google Calendar to a file, and then import them into Outlook on your desktop. It’s not a one-click button but there’s a wizard that’ll walk you through the steps.

Gaussian is a program that provides electronic structure modeling. To use Gaussian 03, you will need:

Everyone at UIC has a UIC email address of the form: NetID@uic.edu. For Ada Byron, whose student NetID is abyron1, this is: abyron1@uic.eduThis is an important email address, because all official UIC email will be sent to it. But it is just an email address; there isn't an email account to go with it. At some point or other, you will have to select an actual email account to receive and manage your NetID@uic.edu email.

Will your NetID@uic.edu email go to your Google Apps at UIC account?

Upgrading to Windows 10 with Endpoint Protection installed

You can upgrade to Windows 10 with Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.6 MP1 installed. Symantec Endpoint Protection is available on the webstore. You must uninstall earlier versions of Symantec Endpoint Protection. The operating system upgrade stops if it detects an earlier version of Symantec Endpoint Protection.

The following operating system upgrade paths are supported with 12.1.6 MP1 installed:

POP and IMAP are two different protocols, or ways of accessing your email account. The main difference between them is that:

  • By default, IMAP stores messages on the server.
  • By default, POP downloads messages to your computer or device and deletes them from the server.

ACCC strongly recommends using IMAP:

Please review the lab reservation and usage policy before submitting a request to reserve a lab.

Beginning with the Spring 2015 semester, the ACCC is partnering with the Office of Classroom Scheduling (OCS) to improve the computer lab reservation process.

Your EnterpriseID and Enterprise password are used to access Enterprise applications such as Web for Student, Web for Faculty, Banner, etc. In almost all cases, your EnterpriseID will be the same as your UIC NetID.

Setting up an email list enables you to email several people at once by simply entering a nickname in the 'To:' field of the email. The email list nickname replaces having to repeatedly type out many email addresses and is particularly useful when you send emails to the same group of people again and again. To set up the list, do the following:

The Hessling Editor (THE) is a text editor that uses both command line commands and key bindings to operate. It is intended to be similar to the VM/CMS System Product Editor, XEDIT, and to Mansfield Software KEDIT. THE was originally written to be used by people already familiar with the above editors. For this reason, there is limited information on using THE. Greater emphasis is placed on reference materials, such as command syntax and configuration.

Visit the IAM Password Management page at identity.uillinois.edu to set up or modify your password recovery options.  The contact information you provide will allow self management of your password if it becomes unusable (expired, forgotten, or locked) and will only be used for password changes, computer account security events including concerns or alerts involving your high risk data, or as authorized by law.

Have you been using pine on tigger to manage your uic.edu email?

  • Want to get away from logging in all the time, but still use your trusty pine interface?
  • Want to be able to use pine and still save attachments directly to your personal computer?
  • Want to use pine to read your GoogleApps@UIC email?

You can do all of these things with the personal computer versions of Alpine. (The "pine" on tigger has been the newer Alpine for many years. It's the same thing.)

An email alias is an email address that forwards messages to a single existing email address. An email alias is not an account and does not have a password associated with it. Email aliases must be requested and owned by a UIC faculty or staff member who will manage the forwarding of the alias. Email aliases are useful for receiving email related to a specific purpose that has only one intended recipient.
