File attachments may be added to different places in a Course. For example, to an Item, an Assignment, or a File in a Learning Module. There are two options for adding file attachments:

If a CD or DVD is stuck in a Mac disk drive, and the Mac is frozen or will not otherwise normally eject the disk, manually reboot into OS X (hard reset w/ power button) while holding the MOUSE BUTTON, C key, or OPTION key upon startup.  Upon reaching the Startup Disk screen, release and press the EJECT button.

Service: Listserv

To unsubscribe from a UIC listserv, send a specially formatted message or use the web interface (requires setting up a listserv password). Please note that there are special listservs (urgent and official notifications, massmail) for which subscription is managed centrally for all UIC students, staff and faculty.

Any Content Item, including Course Links, External Links, Folders, Learning Units, Off line Content and Tools can be copied from one folder or Course to another folder or Course. Copying content does not delete the content from the original location unless Delete Item After Copy is selected. Content that is deleted after a copy is moved to the new location and does not exist in the original location any longer.

NOTE: Folders may not be copied from other parts of a Course into a Learning Module.

There are two ways to work with another person's Microsoft Outlook folders — folder sharing and Delegate Access.

Folder sharing enables another person to access one of your folders, perhaps while you are on vacation. However, it does not include permissions for one to act on behalf of the other. For example, a person who can access your folders cannot reply to email messages or respond to meeting requests for you.

If your department or unit has an RT instance set up for request/problem management, it can be a little daunting to start using the system. Let's go over some of the basic functions of RT.

Using Discussion Board in Blackboard is one of the easiest ways to begin fostering on-line collaboration. This tool will help 'engage' students and foster a community within your individual class. Discussion Board can be a very valuable component to a face-to-face course, especially on a commuter campus like UIC. These Discussion Forums provide a venue for 'asynchronous communication'. They provide a public forum and are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; they make 'anywhere/anytime' learning a possibility.

PLEASE NOTE: Be careful when removing students from Blackboard course sites as all information associated with the student (inc. grades and homework assignment submissions) will be deleted. Before removing students, make sure you do not need to refer back to these students' grades, assignments, quizzes, etc. from the Blackboard course site.

No, printing from lab computers is restricted to current UIC students, staff, and faculty, with a valid UIC NetID and password.

Log in to a Blackboard Learn site, select Tools (or Student Tools) from the Blackboard Learn course menu (on the left) and scroll down to select Blackboard IM.  This will prompt you to download the Blackboard instant messenger software -- a quick and simple installation.  Once Blackboard Instant Messenger is installed, simply login using your Blackboard IM username and password and you can be available anytime and anywhere!

Todays post will detail how to import an ICS file into Outlook. The Notes client will allow you to export into an ICS File. This post will show the procedure for importing this into Outlook 2010.

To begin, you should be using either the “UIC Standard Welcome Template 1080p” or “UIC Standard Content Template 1080p” as your template for the campaigns. Then create your content and position it according the information below in CommandCenterHD. The content area is shown as the gray area in the template.

When a student does not register for a Spring or Fall term, their UIC NetID is marked for expiration and enters a grace period. The grace period lasts throughout the term during which the student did not register for classes, and ends sometime in the middle of the next term. For example, if a student registered for Spring 2011, but did not register for Fall 2011, their NetID will remain in grace period throughout Fall and into Spring 2012.
