How do I create a Blackboard Collaborate session?


Access Blackboard Collaborate
Once you log into your Blackboard course site you can access the Blackboard Collaborate software by clicking on one of the following areas:
  • From the Control Panel click on: Control Panel > Course Tools > Blackboard Collaborate
  • From the Tools area click on: Blackboard Collaborate
Create a new session

  • From the Blackboard Collaborate page, click Create Session
  • Name your session: Add a session name for course site organization purposes 
  • Schedule your session: Update the session schedule based on date and time (start and end time).
    • Note "Early session entry" which indicates how early an individual can join a session (boundary time). This is set to 30 minutes by default in order to allow time to set up and test your microphone and speakers.
    • The below image shows suggested fields and answers for a typical form.

  • When you are finished, click Save
