How do I install and configure Zone Labs Integrity Desktop?

A firewall is a network protection tool that guards against and reports intrusions on your computer from the outside, or unauthorized communications from the inside which runs whenever your computer is on.

ACCC offers UIC faculty, staff, and students Zone Labs Integrity Desktop personal firewall for Windows. Zone Labs Integrity Desktop is Zone Lab's popular and effective Zone Alarm firewall software with additional privacy and protection features.

Note: Zone Labs Integrity Desktop only works for Windows XP and below. It does not work with Windows Vista, 7, or 8. Windows XP and above as well as Mac OS X have their own built in firewalls which should be sufficient for every day internet browsing.

You can use Integrity Desktop's email protection in addition to your antivirus software to quarantine files that might be dangerous and also, with the program control, to prevent software that hasn't been authorized to send outgoing email. It also includes privacy features, which control Web cookies, Web bugs, banner ads, pop-up and pop-under ads, animations, and whatever types of active code you want blocked online (javascript, vbscript, java, ActiveX, and so on).

  1. Go to the University of Illinois Webstore and download Zone Labs Integrity Desktop.
  2. Double click the saved file to begin installation.
  3. A pop up will appear while the installation is taking place.
