How do I install the CrashPlan Client?

To install the client:

Click the link to the installer for your targeted operating system here

Open the downloaded installer file and follow any instructions in the installer.

Once the installation is complete, the CrashPlan client app should open automatically and prompt for login credentials. Enter your NetID and ACCC common password to log in.

NOTE: The default set of files will automatically start backing up even before you initially log into the client. The default backup set is the home directory of the user who installed the software, unless a local organization administrator modified the default backup set.

If the CrashPlan app doesn't automatically enter in the server address and registration key during sign in, please use the following values.

Choose "Existing User"

Server Address: OR (double check that the port number is correct)

Registration Key: 8TU9-UWP8-PW4R-T8HR

A welcome screen will appear that says, “Welcome to Code42!”

Please click on the “Crashplan” icon and select the version of the client that’s appropriate for the machine you want to install the client on. Once the file is downloaded, you may install the client.

When you run the client for the first time, you’ll be asked for a UIC netID and common password, as well as the aforementioned Server Address and Registration Key. Use the values above.
