When I try to open the Network Backup Client on my Mac, the splash screen flashes but nothing else happens. What can I do?

This will happen when there is a problem with your configuration files.

  1. Use Finder to go to /Library/Preferences/Tivoli Storage Manager (or /User/Library/...)
  2. Control-click on TSM System Preferences or tsm.sys and open it with TextEdit.app.
  3. Now find the problem with the preferences. If you modified the Include/Exclude statements, it's likely that the problem is an unmatched quotation mark in them.
  4. Fix the problem, and make sure when you save the file it's still a plain text file.
  5. Try TSM again.
