ACCC Maintenance Window Planned Downtime Schedule 3/24-3/25 [resolved]

Please note that ACCC’s next quarterly maintenance window is from Friday, March 23rd at 6:00pm through Sunday, March 25th at 6:00pm. ACCC maintenance windows are scheduled to have the least impact on UIC operations, and downtime for services is kept to a minimum. However, certain services may be unavailable for extended periods of time due to necessary updates. Below is the schedule for maintenance window activities that will impact ACCC services:

Friday, March 23rd

  • Wired & Wireless Network - Between 6:00pm and 8:00pm, maintenance will be performed on the wired network to improve network security and remove obsolete infrastructure. Some clients will experience loss of network connectivity for up to 15 minutes during this window.
  • Phone Services - Between 8:00pm and 8:30pm, maintenance updates will be applied to all VoIP phones, causing them to restart. Active calls will not be dropped but new calls will not be possible until the phone has finished restarting. Downtime is not expected to last longer than 5 minutes per phone.

Saturday, March 24th

  • Wireless Network - From 1:00am and 1:30am, maintenance updates will be applied to the wireless network infrastructure, causing UIC-WiFi, UIC-Guest, and Eduroam wireless networks to be unavailable.
  • Network Services (Wired Network, Wireless Network, Phone Services) - Between 12:00pm and 11:59pm, maintenance updates will be applied to network server infrastructure. This maintenance is not expected to result in downtime for clients.
  • Various Services - Between 12:00am and 11:59pm, maintenance updates will be applied to server infrastructure. During this window, clients may experience intermittent problems accessing or authenticating to web-based resources.

Sunday, March 25th

  • Wireless Network - Between 10:00am and 6:00pm, maintenance updates will be applied to the wireless network authentication system. Downtime is not expected until approximately 5:00pm, when the wireless network at Rockford and the Eduroam network at Chicago will be unavailable for up to 30 minutes.
