ACCC Maintenance Window 5/18 - 5/19 (1 update) [resolved]

Please note that ACCC’s next quarterly maintenance window is from Friday, May 18th at 9:30pm through Sunday, May 20th at 11:59pm. ACCC maintenance windows are scheduled to have the least impact on UIC operations, and downtime for services is kept to a minimum. However, certain services may be unavailable for extended periods of time due to necessary updates. Below is the schedule for maintenance window activities that will impact ACCC services:

Friday, May 18th

  • Network Maintenance - Between 9:30pm Friday, May 18th and 1:30am Saturday, May 19th, maintenance on network firewalls will be performed. Impacted systems include common password authentication, email, virtual machines, VoIP phones, network management, parking (parking lot access gates and payment devices), printing, and public computing labs. Outages are expected to be brief and completed near the start of maintenance.

Saturday, May 19th

  • Wireless Maintenance - Between 1:00am to 3:00am on Saturday, May 19th, wireless maintenance work will be performed. West campus wireless clients may notice connection instability.
  • Quad Cities College of Nursing Virtual Private Network - Between 1:00am and 4:00am on Saturday, May 19th, VPN service for the College of Nursing at Quad Cities will be down for firmware upgrades.
  • Rockford Active Directory Upgrade - Between Saturday, May 19th and Sunday May 20th, maintenance will be performed on the domain controllers to Active Directory in Rockford. No downtime is expected.
  • College of Dentistry Server Maintenance - Between 9:00am and 10:00am on Saturday, May 19th, maintenance on the colocation server switches will be performed. Downtime may be experienced for one hour.
  • Virtual Server Firmware Update - Between 9:00am to 5:00pm on Saturday, May 19th, virtual server firmware will be updated. No downtime is expected.
  • Authentication Maintenance - Between 10:00am and 11:00am on Saturday, May 19th, DNS and Bluestem updates will be performed. Applications for which users are required to authenticate via Bluestem will be impacted, including myUIC portal, Blackboard, Box, Lynda, G Suite apps, Request Tracker, and others. Outages are not expected to last the entire hour.
