To access many authenticated university services and create accounts, new students, faculty, and staff must first activate their UIC NetID.
New students and department sponsored guests external affiliates will use the “UIC NetID Activation” page to activate their NetID. Student NetIDs are assigned automatically upon admission.
Faculty and staff will go through the “UI New Hire” portal to activate their NetID. Faculty and staff NetIDs are self-selected during the UI NewHire process.
- Register for UIC Alert, an optional free emergency notification system
- Set your password, used to access many ACCC services , as well as most authenticated University of Illinois computing and networking services
- Register password recovery options for self-service management of your password
- Set the forwarding of your NetID@uic.edu email address
- Create accounts to enable access to additional services
To activate a UIC NetID and access ACCC accounts and services you must agree to the Acceptable Use Policy .
