Training

ACCC provides a variety of training formats, including self-paced online learning, workshops and one-on-one consulting.

Online learning

Lynda.com offers over a thousand video tutorials on leading software topics including Adobe products, Apple products, Microsoft products, Web publishing, video editing, audio editing, operating systems, and much more. Many titles are 7 or 8 hours of detailed information broken down into easy to manage 5-15 minute segments. You can always come back in at a later date to pick up where you left off. These video based tutorials are taught by industry experts and available 24/7 for convenient, self-paced learning.

Workshops

The Academic Computing and Communications Center conducts short workshops and training sessions on a number of graphics, information technology (IT), document, statistical software, spreadsheet and web-related topics. Check the current workshop schedule and locations for each workshop. 

All workshops are on a first come first serve basis with many workshops offering live online access. Workshops and training sessions are conducted at one of the following locations:

• East campus in the ITL-East (Daley Library, first floor IDEA Commons)
• West campus in BGRC 105B (Benjamin Goldberg Research Center)
• Online

SAS/SPSS

For all SAS/SPSS workshops please email stats@uic.edu to receive sample data sets before  the workshop takes place.  For more information about the statistical workshops please view the stats workshop descriptions.

There is no charge for this service. Lynda online training and workshops are open to all UIC students, staff and faculty.
