The mission of the Instructional Technology Lab (ITL) is to empower faculty to design and deliver technology-enhanced education. The ITL provides a number of services including professional development, course development, and technology support. In addition, we offer individual and group consultations on instructional design principles and the integration of technology into teaching.

  • Professional Development: We offer webinars and workshops on a variety of topics including all of the basic instructional tools supported at UIC. The goal of these sessions is to help instructors improve their use of technology by providing guidance on the use of best practices for teaching with technology. We also design tailored sessions for academic departments. Visit our events calendar page to register.
  • Course Development: We offer support for the use of quality design standards and best practices in course design for technology-enhanced, blended, and fully online courses. This includes the exploration of collaborative tools, the redesign of courses to meet accessibility requirements, and the improvement of the course structure in general.
  • Technology Support: We ensure the availability of instructional tools and services for UIC faculty and students. UIC offers tools for services in the following areas:
  • Community Engagement: We continually strive to create a campus community that shares best practices for using technology for teaching and learning.
